What is the inclement weather plan? If it is only raining without thunder and lightning, we plan to start the race on time barring any unforeseen electronic complications. If there is thunder and lightning, we will delay the race until safe to start. Worse case scenario, if the weather is simply too nasty and unsafe to start, we would cancel the race. Our goal is always not to cancel, but there is always a chance when hosting an outdoor event.

- Transition is for racers ONLY! Just be nice and say “racers only please”.
- During the race POINT and YELL! Let the racer know where to bike out and where to run out!
- Mount line: Racers are not allowed to mount their bike until they are past this line – tell them over and over not to mount until mount line.
- Also, bikers are not allowed to mount their bikes without their helmet on – may have to remind them.
- Dismount Line: Racers have to get off their bike before this line. They cannot just ride into transition.
- Run Exit: is in the back of Transition. Point them in the right direction.

Body Marking & Timing Chip Table (arrive 5:30 am)
Jana Parker, Kristle Beard, Summer Thomann
- The Racer’s number needs to be written vertical on the left and right arm starting at the shoulder.
- The Racer’s age needs to be written on the racer’s right calf.
- Make sure the participant has their race bib in hand before you mark them. Do Not just mark the number they tell you.
- Remind the racer to get their timing chip!
- Make sure that they show you their race bib number and hand them the corresponding chip with that number. Again, do not allow them to tell you their number. Ask them to please go get their race bib if they do not have it on them. Handing out the wrong chip can cause lots of timing issues.

- Cheer! Cheer! and Cheer some more!!
- Be Alert! Yell out what you are giving out (WATER, WATER/SQWINCHER, SQWINCHER!) over and over
- Make eye contact – the racer will look at you and sometimes point to the cup they are about to take.
- Hold your hand out with the cup and give it to the racer. Do not stand on the race course. Stand to the side and reach out.
- Never, EVER step in front of a biker! They will extend their hand and grab if they want water.
- Only fill cups ½ full. It is hard to run and drink a full cup. Most runners pour half of the cup out.
- Racers can grab as much as they need. May grab one to pour on themselves and one to drink.
- Try to pick up the cups in the road during the race if possible.
